Who do not get excited at the mention of the place Hawaii? When my husband surprises me of Hawaii honeymoon, I was so ecstatic. I always dreamt of having a Hawaiian adventure. When my mother-in-law learned about this trip, her only request was to take home tons of Hawaiian Macadamia nuts and goodies that we can fly in plane.

Tiki statue is famous all over Hawaii, it represents ancient Hawaiian legends. When I received The Tiki Box for the first time to write a review, I was excited then I have to contain myself so I will not be bias in writing the article.

Hawaii has a very rich culture because of the diverse population inhabited in it. Diversity in culture brought diversity in foods as well. The Tiki box we received showed how diverse they are with the food assortment inside it. Below are the products inside our box.

The Tiki Box

  • Glico Pretz Salad (Biscuit stick with salad flavor)
  • Shelly Senbei Rice Crackers (rice crackers with roasted seaweed flavor)
  • Hawaiian Host Maui Caramac (roasted Macadamia with caramel and milk chocolate)
  • Garlic Green Peas ( Green Peas with garlic flavor)
  • Macadamia Nuts Chocolate Covered (macadamia covered with chocolate)
  • Hong Yuan Classic Guava (Guava flavored candy)
  • Plum Candy ( Plum inside candy)
  • Honey Roasted Macadamia Nuts (roasted macadamia nuts with honey)

All Macadamias regardless of flavor were knockout for us. Candies and chocolate flavored nuts were more favored by the children. Green peas have always been my favorite, especially the wasabi flavored because of the hot spices.

If you noticed the varieties of the products I enumerated, some have Asian influence. This is a good way to try products of Hawaii if you never travelled there. I can always hear some friends talk Macadamia nut as distinct to Hawaii. Yes, Macadamia nuts are very big in the island. Hawaii has been known as the world’s largest supplier of macadamia nut but other State like California has some growers too, so with country like Australia.

Again, as I mentioned in my previous articles about food boxes, when you subscribed to this it will be a surprised box since you do not have an idea what are inside until you open it. Each month they will send you a box of Hawaiian snacks picked from different producer/sellers in the island. It is very easy to subscribe, just go to their website, thetikibox.com, and then they will pack your box and delivered it right on your doorstep.

For now, they only have the “Tiki Box” but soon, the “Aloha Box” will come your way. Aloha Box will be assortment of Hawaiian snacks exclusively “made in Hawaii”. That will be something to look forward to.

Try one now; I know you and your family will love it. This box is also very good gift box for family and friends.
