Giving Communication a Personal Touch with Sarah Richardson Collection from Hallmark

So much of my life is centered on digital communication—after all, I am a blogger and interact a lot via social network.  I don’t feel that this is a bad thing.  Electronic media has allowed me to reach audiences I would never have been able to reach before as well as freely communicate with people who I otherwise would have only been able to speak with or write to infrequently.

What is bad, however, is when we move away from traditional means of communication completely and tether ourselves to our electronic devices.  A handwritten note or a heartfelt card are beautiful, personal, and artful—not something that an email, text message, or e-card can compare to.

Despite these sentiments, I myself am guilty of rarely engaging in this type of correspondence anymore.  I always tell myself I will, then I take the easy route.  So, when I was sent some samples of the Sarah Richardson Collection currently offered by Hallmark Canada, I decided I had no more excuses—it was time to write some thank you notes and send some cards.

Getting a collection like this really does motivate you to put it to good use.  There is something about beautiful cards and stationery that is simply irresistible.  Miss Richardson clearly put her design skills to work when she created this collection; each item—including the sheet wrap and gift bags—are creative, colorful, and fun.

My sample pack included three cards—a birthday card, a general celebration card, and a card for a loved one.  In addition, I also received a package of thank you cards and two lovely gift bags.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have a birthday coming up to put that card to good use, so, for now, it is put up for safekeeping.

The celebration card, however, was perfect for a 50th wedding anniversary party I attended.  The lovely design was well received and the wife loved the personal message I included.  I also used one of the gift bags and tissue paper for my gift—and she said she would be holding onto the beautiful bag!

That part, however, was pretty simple.  The thank you cards were much more difficult.  Filling out a card for one person or a couple is easy, but finding ways to personal messages to many different people has always been a bit of a struggle.  However, we had just recently had a party for my daughter, and some thank you cards were in order.

As I said earlier, beautiful cards are an excellent motivator.  While filling in the cards wasn’t a complete breeze, it was still something I ultimately got a great deal of fulfilment from.  The greatest reward, however, was the phone calls I got as the cards were received, thanking me for the beautiful card and lovely message.

If you have a special occasion coming up and require cards, stationery, or gift packaging, I encourage you to check out the Sarah Richardson Collection offered by Hallmark.  They are lovely and certain to make the recipient feel as special as they are to you.
