ZOOMER DINO JESTER #HolidayGiftGuide

This one’s for the boys! If you’re feeling reluctant about giving your little man yet another toy vehicle or action figure this Christmas, then you’ve come to the right holiday gift guide toy review post, right here. How would you like to see your boy rejoice with surprise and totally new excitement as he gets a new playtime best friend: an interactive robotic dinosaur!

Zoomer Dino Jester

Meet Zoomer Dino Jester, the Jokeasaurus! His funny moves and sounds makes him the life of the party. But because he’s a robotic dino, Jester brings out your boy’s cute silliness and sense of humour, and at the same time hones his finesse in technology.

Jester has these cool functional features that make him special and one-of-a-kind to any boy’s collection of most loved toys:

  • Interactive Sensors – Jester’s nose has multiple sensors that can detect hand movements which make him perform various tricks and sounds. He can also get hypnotized, and even act and sound like a hand-sniffing dog!
  • True Balance Technology – Jester’s two feet can balance on wheels, making him quick enough to roam around the house, follow you around, dance, or do a tail whip like crazy! But Jester can sometimes fall out of balance and land on his bottom for some silly reason. You can simply press the button on his back, or the large green button of the remote control to make him balance again.
  • Intuitive Remote Control – Aside from using hand gestures, you can also control and even record Jester’s moves. Kids can easily look through the cheat sheet to press the right button combinations for Jester’s silly movements.

The Zoomer Dino Jester also includes a USB charging cable, a remote control, an instruction guide, and three AAA batteries for the remote control.

Jester can be played in various modes, where his eyes also blink and change colour according to the modes and tricks assigned to him:

  • Auto Mode – Jester’s eyes turns blue, and performs various movements on default. You can also wave your hand near his sensor nose, responding with a certain reaction according to your hand movement. Spin your hand in a circle and he will do an impressive tail whip! A quick hand wave makes him do a random trick, so repeat this wave and get new reactions from him every time. Pull his tail and he’ll either roar with anger or let out a funny dino fart!
  • Training Mode – Jester’s eyes turns purple, indicating that he is ready for zoomer dino training. You can make him sit down, and do tricks while sitting. You can also hypnotize him as his eyes turn white, and he starts following your hand with his dizzy head. You’re free to make him do surprisingly silly things, even chuckle like a chicken!
  • Patrol Mode – Jester can roam around upon your command. He can patrol in a straight path, a circle, a square, or in a triangle pattern. Set up some toy blocks or any border for Jester to destroy!
  • Control Mode – Want to know how to control Zoomer Dino? You’re free to drive Jester around and make him do specific tricks, move his head and tail, and produce silly sounds like burping songs, beatboxing, or even barking like a dog! But Jester is still a dinosaur, so he can still act seriously and let out a scary roar!
  • You can also put Jester on Record Mode, where you can record his moves up to 10 seconds long, provided that he is in Control or Auto mode. His yellow eyes indicate that he’s ready for recording, and his recorded moves can be saved while on Sleep Mode.

My kids were so surprised with the myriad of tricks Jester can do. He can keep us entertained all day and keep us thinking of what else we can make him do. He made us excited and willing to take a break from screen gadgets and discover other ways to play with technology: hand movements on sensors, and good old analog remote control. He also successfully got us (the whole family) together! It was great to have a really good laugh with the kids while playing with Jester.

Recommended for kids aged 5+, you won’t go wrong with the Zoomer Dino by Spin Master, which won Boy Toy of the Year and Overall Toy of the Year (two major awards!) at the the 2015 Toy of the Year awards. Jester could be the best pre-historic per and craziest interactive playmate your little boy will ever have.
