Top Foods To Buy Wholesale and in Bulk

Buying in bulk is a surefire way to save money. Whether you buy wholesale through a store or whether you get wholesale online, buying in bulk or at wholesale prices is going to save on your monthly spending. As long as you have the room to store what you buy, and you can eat what you buy before it goes off then there is no reason not to change the way you shop.

However some items lend themselves to being bought in bulk more than others. Here are my top recommendations for food to get in bulk.

Anything in cans:
If you know about the process of canning you’ll know that the contents can last for years and still be edible. A lot of items will have expiry dates way into the future. If you can store these they will last you well into the future. You can get canned fruit, meat, veg, meals and more so it’s worth stocking up.

Cleaning Items:
Toilet paper, kitchen roll, soap, washing powder. Anything you use all the time is worth getting. You’re unlikely to stop cleaning yourself or washing your clothes so as long as you’re happy with the brand and the price – stock up. This also saves awkward moments when you may run out of toilet paper. Keep an eye on your stock levels, but if you have room to store items, this is a great way to ensure you have the basics.

Salt, pepper etc.
While some herbs and spices will lose their flavour after a while, check the ones you use regularly and see which you can stock up on. If you get through certain items fast – then buy them in large quantities. Bags of salt, pepper, and spices are often a lot cheaper than packaged versions.

Rice:
Rice lasts for ages. It is already cheap, but when you start buying 5kg or 10kg + the prices drop like crazy and it becomes incredibly cheap. If you like rice as much as I do, then stock up on the big bags and get yourself a little cup or big spoon so you can scoop out exactly the amount you need.
