Kids are roughest on shoes, and I’ve learned that the hard way, twice. It doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl, because my 7-year old daughter is just as active as my almost 3-year old son. I don’t need to slow her down, but rather she needs really tough shoes that can withstand her uninhibited energy. I can attest to the difficulty of finding highly durable shoes particularly designed for little girls. But I don’t want to compromise by just letting her wear boys’ shoes for that matter. So when I finally found a pair of Merrell Kids just perfect for my adventurous princess, I was so ecstatic!

We received a brand new pair of Merrell Chameleon Low A/C Waterproof in Grey/Pink from TinySoles, an awesome retail store that selectively carries shoe brands that promote healthy foot development! We’re in great luck with the shoes we received, because it wouldn’t be hard anymore to find quality shoes for rough kids, and at the same time these shoes are good for my daughter’s developing feet.

Our Merrell Chameleon Low A/C Waterproof is a lovely grey pair of hiking shoes with a fun pop of bright colours in pink and turquoise. There’s no mistaking that this pair is perfect for a toughie girl! It’s made of waterproof suede with mesh uppers, and has a velcro strap for easy but secure closure. It features M-Select technology, particularly M-Select DRY where it has a lightweight waterproof layer that blocks precipitation and lets internal moisture escape so the shoes stay dry inside out. It also has M-Select FRESH which protects the shoes from odour, and most importantly M-Select GRIP where the outsoles provide for extra durable traction and slip-resistant stability even on wet ground and unpredictable terrains.

So far, my daughter has become even more all out in her outdoor activities whenever she wears her Merrell Chameleon. It’s also perfect for the winter terrains in Toronto right now, but we hope it can last during the following spring, summer and fall or until she outgrows it! I’m just so glad to have found a heavy-duty outdoor footwear for my daughter, and it’s great that its design is still on the feminine side. Props to TinySoles for ending my challenging search for such kind of girls’ shoes!
