Playtex TravelTime Sport Spout Cup Review

Playtex

Whether traveling or not, I always prefer using travel-safe products for my ever-spontaneous kids. I don’t have any other choice but to be practical all the time! You’ll never know when minor accidents can occur, such as food and drink spills on the couch. It’s gonna cost me some fortune for the lost food, the amount of cleaner, the time it takes to clean and disinfect it (and it’s not easy to do!), and not to mention the drama.

To save me from yet another disaster, I’m glad that my son’s new Playtex TravelTime Sport Spout Cup has been serving us well. It has Twist ‘N Click technology, where you can easily twist the cup’s lid and hear its audible clicking sound to ensure that your drink is 100% free from leaks, breaks, and spills. It also has a removable straw valve which acts like a water stopper, thus making it mess-free no matter how hard the cup is put to the test.

I have the Outer Space design, which features a blue universe with colorful stars, and quirkily patterned planets with multiple orbits. I’m amazed by how behaved my son is when he’s on his seat as he looks at this design. I just have to rotate the cup as he watches the planets revolve around as well. Voila, that was his first science lesson about the solar system.

The Sport spout of the TravelTime cup comes in the form of a hard straw that mimics an athlete’s tumbler straw, and is slim enough for small mouths to comfortably sip on. This spout is especially handy whenever we’re on-the-go, whether in a car or stroller. At times when he wants to imitate me or his big sister drinking from a glass or mug, I’d just have to easily remove the lid and he’s happily drinking like an adult. I’m the one holding the cup though.

I really appreciate that its capacity is 12 ounces. It will encourage my son to drink plenty or enough water, especially in the coming summer where we really need to stay extra hydrated for the warmer weather. And because it’s insulated, where it can keep the drink cool twice as long as a single-walled cup would, my son will stay refreshed throughout a huge part of his day.

The Playtex TravelTime sippy cup is recommended for kids 24 months old and up, but my toddler boy is only 17 months and he already enjoys using it! Looks like I won’t have any problems as he switches from bottle to cup. I guess he wants to feel more like a big kid now, especially that he often sees his big sister acting like one.

All Playtex cups are now redesigned with the Twist ‘N Click technology. So aside from TravelTime sippies for ages 24m+, the Twist ‘N Click feature is also present in TrainingTime cups for 4m+, AnyTime for 9m+, and PlayTime for 12m+, which can all vary in soft spouts, hard spouts, straws, or even spoutless mouths. And as always, all Playtex feeding products are BPA-free!
