MAM Microwave Steam Sterilizer & Soft Brush Review

If babies can never have too many stuff, then that means we can never have too many baby stuff to clean! And by cleaning I mean washing, drying, and sterilizing before every single use. Baby bottles and nipples, breast pump parts, pacifiers, utensils, anything that comes in contact with their food and their mouths! And the tedious chore of cleaning plus sterilizing often has to be done more than once a day, sometimes every after feeding! Caring for our babies already takes time and energy, so the last thing we want is to take up too much time cleaning.

But do we really have to spend that much time and effort to clean and sterilize just to ensure the safety of what our little ones chew and eat? For me, it’s a yes for effort, and a no for time! I mean, you can actually clean your baby’s stuff thoroughly, but faster. And that’s by using quality cleaning tools that are effective and easy to use. Because after all, we can’t compromise our babies’ safety. And MAM knows that very well.

MAM Soft Bottle Brush Non-Scratch Bristles

So I wanted a cleaning brush that not just easily cleans, but a also easy to clean. And that characteristic is very hard to find. Well, the MAM Soft Brush is the answer! It’s like a reversed J-shaped brush with super soft bristles that don’t scratch and are adaptable to any bottle structure. It has a teat brush on its other end (not a separate piece!) that also has extra soft and flexible bristles.

Because the bristles of the MAM Soft Brush are thicker on its roots, they are easily separable unlike ordinary brushes that stick together, so it’s very much easier to clean after use and thus tend to dry longer. It also has a large hanging hole for easy drying and storage. And I must mention that it’s so stylish too!

And after the cleaning is of course the sterilizing. Let me tell you why the MAM Microwave Sterilizer is so convenient for busy moms. It includes the base for containing everything, a lid with latches for secure closing and draining, two baskets for greater sterilizing capacity, and a nipple tong for hygienic bottle assembly. It’s also great for cold sterilizing.

The baskets make the already spacious sterilizing compartment even more spacious. It’s huge capacity of up to six baby bottles (depending on bottle size), allows me to sterilize everything in one batch so it saves time and microwave energy. Microwave sterilization takes 5 or 6 minutes, depending on the microwave’s wattage. The recommended cooling time before taking out the lid is 3 minutes.

When I’m not in a rush or not feeling lazy, or when I sterilize other things, sometimes I just pour boiling water on the dish and cover it as usual, then sterilize it for about 10 minutes. I also do the same for cold sterilization where I pour very cold water instead. And may favorite feature is that I can safely drain the hot water through the holes of the lid.

And btw, all MAM products are BPA-free! So go ahead if you’re drooling on their super uniquely stylish, yet conveniently functional and award-winning baby products.
