Getting Ready for Easter With Tastefully Simple Part I {Giveaway}

Easter is just around the corner, and this is always a busy time of year for my family. We spend a lot of time shopping for new outfits, planning and attending egg hunts, dying eggs, and planning the big Easter dinner.

Thankfully Tastefully Simple has made it easy for busy moms to create great tasting, simple dishes without a lot of time, effort, and complex ingredients. Their products are simply mixes that you add another ingredient to, and done, you have a great dish or dessert you would be proud to serve to your family. No huge mess or crazy amount of dishes involved.

Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread

Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread

This fruit spread tastes just like homemade preserves. It would be perfect to spread on toast, biscuits, or other desserts. I decided to use one of their included recipes to make the:

Luscious Fruit Dip

ingredients

directions

In small bowl, combine first 2 ingredients; blend well. Stir in whipped topped until smooth. Add in Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread and stir. Chill.

I was very pleased with how this dip turned out. It was super easy to make as well, I mixed it up in the afternoon, stuck it in the refrigerator until after dinner. I served it with a large bowl of fresh fruit. It was a big hit with my family. It had just the right amount of sweetness to complement the fruit, and who could resist the pretty pink color, perfect for spring and Easter.

Italian Garlic Seasoning

Italian Garlic Seasoning

The Italian Garlic Seasoning is a great versatile product. It would be perfect to add to pasta, soup, sauce, or butter for garlic bread. It add just the right amount of flavor without being overwhelming.

I decided to use the included Easter recipe, which was deviled eggs, my family was very excited to get an early sampling before the Easter season.

Deviled Eggs Recipe

ingredients

  • 12 large hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow or Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp. Italian Garlic Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. white vinegar

directions

Cut tops off the round ends of the eggs. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl. Break up yolks until there are no lumps.

Add mayonnaise, mustard, Italian Garlic Seasoning and vinegar to bowl; using an electric mixer on medium, mix until well combined and fluffy.

I was a little nervous to go away from my traditional devilled recipe, but since I trust Tastefully Simple I decided to give it a try. They were a hit, the Italian Garlic Seasoning gave them the extra flavor they needed.

Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix

Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix

The Perfectly Cheddar Soup mix is the perfect comfort food. This soup is the perfect mix of potatoes, cheddar cheese, and onion, and all you have to do is add water. I don’t think a weeknight meal could get much easier.

I decided to use my soup mix in a unique way, I would have never come up with this idea on my own, thankfully Tastefully Simple send me some great recipes to go along with their awesome products.

Cheddar & Spinach Egg Strata Recipe

ingredients

  • 1 packet Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 5 oz. fresh spinach leaves, chopped
  • 8 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 14 cups cubed French bread (about one 16 oz. loaf)

directions

In large mixing bowl, combine Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix and boiling water; let stand 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onions; salt and pepper to taste. Sauté 3-4 minutes or until softened. Add spinach; continue sautéing until wilted and liquid has evaporated.

Cheddar & Spinach Egg Strata Recipe

Add eggs and spinach mixture to soup; mix to combine. Place half the bread in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour half the soup mixture over bread and sprinkle with 1 cup cheese. Repeat with remaining bread, soup mixture and cheese. Cover and refrigerate several hours or up to overnight.

Preheat oven to 375°. Remove strata from refrigerator and bake, covered 30 minutes. Remove cover and continue baking 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Makes 10-12 servings.

I prepared my egg strata the night before, and baked it the next morning. This made for a super easy breakfast for my family. The potato soup gave it such a good flavor, and I enjoyed the texture of the French bread.

This would be the perfect dish for Easter breakfast or brunch.

Check back next week for my next round of Easter recipes using Tastefully Simple products.
