As well as a vanity base, the product comes with a drawer, a mirror, 2 flower attachments, a styler, 4 Deco pop tubes, a design tip, as well as an inspiration guide.
Young girls just love being creative and pretending they’re all grown up, and what better way of letting their imagination run wild than buying them a vanity design kit that they can style to until their heart is content? This product is essentially play doh yet it’s easier to mould your own way. There are 4 Deco pops to choose from – green, pink, blue and white – and you gently squeeze the doh from the Deco pops onto the styler.
There are an array of patterns and shapes your child can produce according to various templates; kids simply hold the styler at an angle, touch the indicated lines on the surface and lightly and carefully trace the pattern. The key is to work slowly so as to keep a consistent amount of doh on the surface. Overdoing it will just lead to clumpiness. There are a number of different patterns included, which means a wide array or different shapes and designs, and owing to the four different colors, your child is encouraged to design it according to her own personality.
Once the design is set, your child can easily slide her design onto the vanity stands. My six year-old daughter has this set, and she just loves it. It gives her a chance to not only be creative with colors, templates and shapes, but she loves to pretend that she’s all grown up, smiling and admiring herself in the mirror and pretending she’s getting ready for a big night at the theatre. It wasn’t long before she was giving me make-up tips! In one way it’s a real girly-girl’s toy, but in another way it’s an excellent toy for young crafters who love getting creative. How good their designs are will depend on their age and skills, though, having said that, I had a quick go once and let’s just say that we won’t talk about the results!
It’s a hugely fun and appealing play set that works on a number of surfaces, including cardboard wood and paper. You’ll never run out of templates either, because the doh can easily be peeled off once it’s been used, though bear in mind that it will set if you leave it too long! The only real drawback is that the doh cannot be reused so, in this sense, the product is fairly finite.
Still, there is a good amount of doh included, and your child gets to unleash her imagination in awesome 3D. It’s a colorful, really creative and rewarding play set.
