All I had to do was sign up and fill out my Style Profile Questionnaire, which thoroughly asked about my body type and size measurements, as well as my preferred styles and fit. I felt like an instant celebrity because of the fun and very helpful questions asked, and their range of multiple-choice answers. There’s also a question there which asks, “Are you a mom?”, though I’m not sure what it’s for. But I appreciate that perhaps the stylists would take note of it by carefully selecting mom-approved clothing pieces.
Within a week after signing up I received my first virtual Dressing Room, which contained the stylists’ picks specially pre-selected for me, where I can choose a dress or a combination of one top and one bottom, and one accessory. That’s a total of two to three items, for a one-month subscription of $74.95. Additional purchases are also possible, for choices of more than three items. Shipping is free if within the continental USA, and with minimal flat rates for Canada. Returns for exchange are also free.
The Dressing Room gives monthly new choices of 10-16 various clothing pieces of tops, dresses, pants, shorts & skirts, and 5-8 choices of accessories. The quantity may be too few for some, but I am assured that all the selections in my Dressing Room have a size for me, and that all pieces are based on my very detailed style profile. Plus, I love the Style Notes that are extra helpful in giving me mix-and-match tips for each piece.
I got my first subscription box from Cypress and 5th for the month of March. It includes my personal choices from my Dressing Room, which are: a pink leopard sweater, a pair of light blue jeans, and a stylish scarf. These three pieces are a perfect combination altogether, and because of the Style Notes in my Dressing Room, I gained more ideas on how I can individually wear them in style.
My pink leopard sweater is just so lovely. It’s a little loose-fitting so I can wear them on shorts, small skirts, and tight pants.
These jeans are snugly fitting in cut, and thankfully fits my waist! It’s been a while since I got my latest pair of jeans so this is a welcome addition to my staples.
I adore everything about this super soft infinity scarf. I love its springy colors, and it can instantly glam up my plains and soft prints.
Although Cypress & 5th is a monthly thing, I’m impressed that there is no fixed-term contract. Subscribers may choose to “Keep Shopping” or “Opt Out” upon receiving her Dressing Room every 1st of the month. The “Opt Out” option is specially handy if you decide not to purchase anything from your personalized Dressing Room even after requesting for a free alternative room, and this should be done before the 5th of the month to avoid being charged for the one-month subscription of $74.95. No worries if you opt out after already being charged, as you will receive the same amount as store credit, and will not be charged in the following months until you “Renew” your subscription. What’s even more impressive is that even if your subscription is on pause, you will still get new Dressing Rooms monthly, without charge!
One strong advice from the cool stylists of Cypress & 5th is to shop quickly upon receiving your monthly Dressing Room. This is because the quantity of items may run low as the month goes by, due to limited inventory. You can not go back to your previous month’s Dressing Room too, but you will always get the latest selection of fashion pieces every month. And yes, you can update your style profile for any changes in your sizing and style preferences.
