It’s back to school time in Canada which means the cold weather isn’t far behind! Shopping for school supplies and clothing that will bring my children through the Fall and Winter will include items like jackets, hats, scarves, mittens, and, last but certainly not least, the all important winter boot.
As a mom, I am naturally concerned about not only fit, but warmth and longevity as well. For that reason, I have chosen a pair of Twinkle Toes: Glamslam – Lil Lovelies cool weather boots for my daughter and a pair of Arktic cold weather boots for my son. Both boots are products of Skechers so I have confidence that they will wear well and last long.
Twinkle Toes: Glamslam – Lil Lovelies for my daughter are a cool weather boot with a faux suede construction that covers her foot to her ankle. From the ankle upward to mid-calf is a knit, sweater-like material for extra warmth and comfort. The top of the boot is lined with a faux fur that hugs the calf softly, sealing any opening that would allow the cold to get inside. Hearts and sequins embroider the front panel that cheerily light up and sparkle with each step my daughter takes. The insole is cushioned to further protect her feet, and the outsole of the boot is constructed for extra traction. This boot slips on for an easy fit and will beautifully compliment anything my little girl is wearing to school, whether it be jeans, a skirt, leggings, or even shorts!
For my little guy I chose the Skechers Arktic, a rough and tumble boot that will keep up with his rough and tumble school day. Insulated and waterproof, this boot will provide cold weather protection for him right up to his mid-calf. The Arktic is also a slip on boot, which will make dressing on those hectic school day mornings just a little bit easier! The laced front panel adds a bit of diversity as well.
The outside of the boot is synthetic with a durable overlay for extra protection and warmth. My son’s feet are guaranteed to stay warm and cozy even if the temperature goes as far down as -30C. Now that’s protection a mom can feel confident about! The midsole has thick padding for extra shock absorption and the outsole is made of a flexible rubber for high traction. I like that both the heel and the toe are equipped with a durable bumper overlay which will certainly add to the life of the shoe. The insulation throughout the inside is a soft material and will provide him with extra warmth. The color is black with a royal blue stitching and accents. The laces are black as well, with royal blue stitching woven throughout.
My little ones are thrilled with their new Skechers and are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to wear them as the new school year begins. Their mom is thrilled with their new Skechers, too, and confident knowing that their feet will spend a warm and happy Fall and Winter in their new boots.
