Do you have a special place in your house where you go to retreat from the daily grind? I think having a place of your own is so essential to my sanity–even if it is only a 5-minute bathroom break where i can close the door and read before my girls come knocking.
Since it’s important to me, I am sure it’s also important to my girls to have a place of their own–to have their own domain that is only theirs without me telling them what they can and cannot do with it. I finally found one of the greatest cardboard houses on the market–the Children’s Cardboard Playhouse from Cascades Boutique. At $48, you seriously cannot beat the price or the quality of this house.
We received this awesome playhouse from Cascades Boutique to review about 6-weeks ago and it has become my girls’ sanctuary and haven when they need a break from one another, me, or a crying newborn sister. They’ve decorated the sturdy walls with their crayon drawings and delivered mail to each other in the sweet little mailbox. They’ve invited visitors into their house through one door and escorted them out through the other side. They’ve even attempted to catapult themselves, their baby dolls, and their stuffed animals through the windows and skylights (not recommended). Thankfully, though, all the corners are rounded (not sharp and pointy) which makes rough play safer! All in all, this cardboard house has been well played with and you’d never even know because of its durability and incredible quality.
What else you wouldn’t know is how incredibly easy it is to set this playhouse up–from start to finish it took me no more than 11 minutes (yes, i timed it) and that was with two very eager girls trying to “help” me. The instructions are clear and the cardboard is easy to manipulate into the folds and shapes it was designed for.
I love that this playhouse is made by a small Canadian company that strives to be eco-friendly, too. It is entirely made of recycled corrugated cardboard–no additional trees were destroyed in the making of this product! My girls and I have absolutely no complaints and can only rave about how great this playhouse is! We hope you’ll play in your own one soon!
