Two weeks ago, we welcomed our first little one to the world! He is a darling little boy, in perfect health and of wonderful temperament and I could spend all day just staring in wonderment at his tiny little fingers, tiny little toes, and tiny little nose! Of course, in reality, that simply isn’t possible because instead, we spend all day changing tiny little diapers!
We also spend an extraordinary amount of time pulling, prodding and poking at his diapers and pulling on and off off layers of his clothes in order to ascertain whether or not he needs changing. Inevitably, by the time we find a way to check, he has of course soiled his diaper and the whole process begins again!
In my half-asleep haze (I also spend a large amount of my time feeding and snuggling my darling little boy, regardless of what time of day – or night – it might be), I kept thinking, “There MUST be a better way of doing this!”
It turns out, there is, and it’s called the Caboosee onesie. Emily Blomberg, owner of this innovative company, designed the Caboosie with her two little ones in mind, after enduring the frequent peek and sniff checks that I’ve been experiencing times two!
She explained, “As a mom of two, I spend lots of time throughout the day checking my little one’s diapers. When wearing the Caboosee it makes it much easier to quickly be able to peek in, instead of having to fully undress them just to find out it was just gas.”
I have to say, as soon as I saw this product, I immediately thought, “This is brilliant!” Seriously, how has no one ever thought of this idea before? Why aren’t ALL onesies made like the Caboosee??
The design concept is quite simple, with a traditional cozy and cool onesie garment (available in a variety of colours and modern printed designs) that cleverly also opens in the back with a patent-pending elastic opening straight across where the top of the diaper waistband sits. This allows for you to quickly and easily pull back the fabric to peek in to your little one’s diaper to check whether or not it needs to be changed, with minimal struggle on your part and minimal annoyance to your baby. I think we all can agree how important it is to minimise the amount of fussing you do with your baby’s clothing – one peek too many and you could wind up with a very cranky crying baby!
Seriously, this product is brilliant.
Not only does it offer a very easy to use, simple solution to an annoying problem parents and caregivers face around a dozen times every day, but it is also really cute and stylish with its playful designs (we chose the chic glasses) including the year, birds and an elephant.
In its next iteration, Emily tells me that she will be introducing a slightly revamped back closure with a tighter elastic and no snap to make the Caboosee even more easy to use and sleeker to look at. Additionally, you can look forward to an increase in the variety of designs available to ensure that your baby is the most stylish – and least smelly – on the block!

I recommend buying one of each and stocking up, because once you try this product out, you will never want to put another closed-back onesie on your little one again!
