With Peanut and Pofaroo attending an Eco-School, I’m always looking for easy to use, reusable containers for snacks and lunch. Typically I stick with 2 piece containers (container + lid) but sometimes these can be difficult for Pofaroo to open. Not to mention the search for the lid in the pile of other reusable containers we keep in our bottom pot drawer.
I was excited to be given the opportunity to try out the Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Reusable Snack & Everything Bag. Before the product even arrived, I researched to find out all I could about Itzy Ritzy.
The Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Bags come in 2 sizes and a variety of patterns. I love that there is something for everyone both in typical boys/girls patterns as well as gender neutral and patterns that every mom would love.

Itzy Ritzy Snack Bags are BPA, PVC & Lead free with an FDA & CPSIA stamp of approval in the USA. Not only is the ease of use and versatility important but so is the composition of the product in our house. With a zipper closure, a water-resistant lining and machine washable I wondered if the product would be too good to be true.
When I received the Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens bag in the Hoot print, I was pleasantly surprised by the size. It’s large enough that I could fit a large sandwich in for even my husband (although I don’t think he would appreciate the fun owl print as much as my 2 girls). I love the zipper closure that is definitely easier for Pofaroo to open and the product appears to be very well made.
But to truly make an informed opinion of the product, you have to try it out!
First up, I wanted to test the water-resistance of the product. Using freshly washed grapes I filled the bag up and left the grapes in the bag for 5 hours unrefrigerated. The Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Bag actually kept the grapes cool and the water in with no water leaking through the inside liner to the outer shell!! With all the icky sticky messes the girls have brought home in their lunch bags with leaking containers this will be perfect to help avoid those messes. And did I mention it’s washable? Although I didn’t wash it in the machine, I did add some dish soap in the bag along with some water and after a quick rinse, hung it to dry. Just as easy as washing out the many containers we use every day.
With how large the bag is, one bag would be enough for both girls’ snacks. Next up, mini bagels! With how large the bag is, I was able to put four mini-bagels with cream cheese in the bag and still would have had room for one or two more. Perfect for snacks for both girls and only one bag to carry!
And it’s not just for food! The Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Bag is the perfect size for crayons and paper as an activity bag, a first aid kit for camping or even toiletries for your carry-on bag when travelling.
The Itzy Ritzy Snack Happens Bag has definitely made it onto my Back To School list!
