Zoku Mini Pop Molds #Review

It’s but natural for kids to love yummy but not-so-healthy treats. So I thought, instead of buying commercially available kid magnets (aka sweets) from supermarkets, why don’t I make my own healthy version of them instead? Yes, parents can definitely be in control with their kids’ health, not just with the main dishes but also even with sweet treats.

Can’t get your kids to drink healthy juices and smoothies that don’t appeal to their taste? Turn them into ice pops! I recently made orange pops with the Zoku Mini Pop Molds, made from my very own homemade orange juice. My daughter usually doesn’t finish one glass of pure and fresh fruit juice since it may be too sour for a kid with a sweet tooth, but with my frozen orange pops, she just couldn’t resist and get enough!

The Zoku Mini Pop Molds have nine cute mini molds plus nine pop sticks with drip guard, molding the right serving size for children. I really like the stick that comes with each mold because of its drip guard, which is round barrier around it which supports the frozen pop and keeps it from sticking to the hands. It’s a very welcome mess prevention feature for me! It’s also very easy to use because there’s no need to run the mold tray under warm water to release. After freezing the pops, I simply had to pull them from the mold without difficulty. Just give it a little push of the silicone bottom. Pop! It comes out easily. The pops are in their beautiful, perfectly round shape, almost like big lollipops. And most importantly, the molds are BPA and pthalate-free

Now I know what to do in times of unwanted but super healthy drinks in the family. I’m pretty confident that any kind of juice that I’ll make from even the least popular of fruits can turn out amazing when made into fruit pops. There are also just endless combinations of different fruit juices and other ingredients that I can mix together and simply shape in the pop molds. Any kind of drink or cream would be great too! Think yogurt or milk pops with mixed in fruit chunks, nuts, jelly, choco chip, cereals, oh boy!

If I’d have the pop molds for myself, I’d make me and my husband some coffee pops, milk tea pops, or even cocktail pops for my guests! I can’t wait to try turning my green veggie smoothies into pops too, and see if my daughter would like them. And the next time she craves for a cold treat, I’d simply tell her that I’d just make her favourite pops when we get home. They’re just that easy to use and clean, that I’d be happy to make flavourful pops more than just once in a day.

Zoku also has a lot more pop makers in different shapes and sizes, as well as slushie and shake makers, ice molds, and ice cream makers. Check out their blog for awesome recipe ideas that just seem so delectable. I’m sure you’ll completely say goodbye to buying fancy treats and say hello to making them from your own home.
