Keys often get me. I mean, I had instances where keys made my life horrible, like when I forget them which will make me do exhausting things just to get back in or, when I lose them, it will cost me to get another one. I was offered a review opportunity of Weiser Lock SmartCode that will do just the trick for me to avoid all those hassle about forgetting keys. As most of us know, Weiser Lock is a company that specializes on door hardware that is absolutely stylish and innovative. They never ran out of quality and variety since 1904! That’s enough time to prove how good they are to be still standing and running.

Since it’s back-to-school again and kids can be left alone at home when we’re out for work or errands, it’s really necessary to get a good security system at home. By that, I don’t mean getting the expensive one. An excellent lock system from a trusted brand may do. Often we also leave the house with no one in when picking up the kids. Though I haven’t had my ever-handy husband to install our own Weiser Lock SmartCode because he still has to find time for it, I’m already pretty convinced that this one will work wonders for us.

Weiser Lock SmartCode has a SmartKey cylinder in them with automatic and durable deadbolt lock. Yes, it still has a keyhole but, it’s JUST an option since you can opt on using the code-activated system it has. It comes in a lock indicator and a number key pad which has lights for those instances you’re caught by dark outside. The code fixed on the system can be exclusively used by the family or household members only, but it can also be a smart code for guests, babysitters, or other people who’ll enter your house. It can be deleted anytime, too. Best part of it is that it is so easy to install that you wouldn’t need other tools like hand drills to put holes. A screw driver is enough to secure the whole thing in place.

Having the Weiser Lock SmartCode along with other available Weiser door ware can not only beautify your house’s door, but give you the best safety and security service, too. It can give you a peace of mind when you leave the house or sleep at night. Plus, there would be no keys necessary for the whole family, especially for me. Now, Weiser Lock SmartCode will really help me get ready for the back-to-school mommy duties without worrying that much about the house’s safety or even about the keys!

Here are also some tips from Weiser,

Tips for Back-to-School:

  • · Don’t leave your door unlocked for your kids when they get home, even if you live on a “quiet street”. By installing a keyless entry system like the Weiser SmartCode in your home you can come in and out of your home without having to worry about keys.
  • · Don’t use the “hide-a-key” method. Vandals know ALL the hiding spots. Installing a keyless entry system is a much safer choice, or send the key to school with your child. Even leaving the key with a trustworthy neighbour is a better option!
  • · Leave a light on – even in the daytime. Vandals love to target homes where everyone is clearly away.
    • · Be sure that your child knows not to allow anyone inside the house when they are alone.
    • · Have a list of emergency numbers handy in the house.
    • · Have your child call you when they have arrived home safe.

Other General Security Tips:

  • · Lock your doors 24/7. 50 percent of all break-ins are through unlocked doors!
  • · Help the police help you! Make sure you keep your street address visible. If affixing numbers to your house, they should be at least four inches high, reflective and visible from the street.
  • · Been at the same house for a while? Replace your outside locks as you’ve probably given out your house key a lot through the years.
  • · Backyard secure? Consider installing a fence and plants fast-growing bushes as extra barrier around the exterior of your home.
  • · Got deadbolts? Most burglaries are the result of forced entry. Make sure all exterior doors have deadbolts with at least a 1” throwbolt.
