Along with a burning desire to help underprivileged girls, fashion designer Jena Murray has a passion to produce fashionable eco-friendly clothing in colors and patterns that bring a smile to the face of every young girl who wears them. She has named her clothing line VEENA. She produces clothing that is Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) which governs control over the entire process of the manufacture of the clothing beginning with the farms where the material found in the clothing are grown right through to the finished product. All the clothing in the VEENA line are carbon neutral certified. This means that the fibers in the material that each article of clothing is made of have to be between 70% and 100% organic.
Jena Murray is committed to helping girls all over the world and has founded the VEENA WARRIORS, an organization devoted to underprivileged girls in several countries. Girls are taught to use different forms of art in order to bring out their inner feelings; they create different crafts and artwork in order to develop feelings of self-confidence, enabling each girl to regard herself with satisfaction and with pride in who she is.
VEENA products are manufactured with the same vision as their founder. Bright colors and interesting patterns are used with the purpose of inspiring the girls who wear them to be their best. Every article of clothing and every accessory are carefully garnered, made of the safest, most durable fabric.
This school year my daughter will be wearing VEENA products. We were sent two pieces of clothing for her to begin the school year wearing. Each item Jena Murray manufactures carries the name of a different young girl that she has worked with during her experiences with her VEENA WARRIORS. We have got an adorable little dress named The Drew. It is a preshrunk 100% cotton material with long sleeves and a crew neck. It features a “baseball” hem and, as all VEENA products are, it is manufactured according to GOTS standards and the fabric is eco-friendly. Its colors are pink and black, fusing together in a geometric pattern, a very lively combination for a little girl!
Our next piece to add to my daughter’s back to school wardrobe is a beautiful teal, long sleeved top that has been named The Indira. The teal color is bright and beautiful and the front of the top bears a printed eye across the chest. The eye makes an intriguing statement and is adorned with exquisite designs.
Both items that we have are very reasonably priced and were manufactured in India. The material, in addition to being organically based, is of high quality, and long lasting fabric. The colors and styles of the clothing thrill my daughter, and, for me, the excitement extends outward to the wonderful quality and easy care.
The idea of supporting underprivileged girls all over the world has given my daughter feelings of both joy and accomplishment, knowing that she has participated in an important cause. My little girl can’t wait to wear her new VEENA clothing to school this year.
