2010 Holiday Gift Guide – Oransi Ionic Fridge Air Purifier Review And Giveaway

Oransi is a company based right here in the United States, in Austin Texas. They make high quality air purifiers and other products better for the environment.  Right away, I like them because their sales and service reps many are stay-at-home-moms. Their employees (Moms, just like you and I) all use their products in their homes and are stand by them. They encourage all employees to work from home which saves fossil fuel consumption. This contributes to fewer cars driven, meaning less time in traffic and more time with family; better for the environment and better quality of life for all.  It just all makes sense, and I applaud any company that believes in this!

Cleaner air is something I think we all can agree is healthier for our families, even if that cleaner air is in our refrigerator. Honestly I hadn’t ever stopped to think about the air quality of my refrigerator, and how it might affect the rate of food spoilage and possible mildew growth. I clean out my fridge about once a week, when I make my grocery shopping list, and usually I am pretty upset at how much spoils before I was ready to prepare it. I HATE wasting food. Even with my good intentions it seems food spoils quicker than it should, especially those healthy veggies!

I was recently introduced to an Ionic Fridge Air Purifier made by Oransi, and since placing it in our fridge; I have to say I am quite pleased with the results thus far! It quietly and intuitively neutralizes odors and kills bacteria, extending the life of food, and helps keep our food from spoiling.  I’m especially smitten with this product because it freshens the air without the use of chemicals and fragrances; the result is just pure, clean, fresh air.

The Ionic Fridge Air Purifier does this by patented Piezo-electric technology. This technology allows for a high negative output to aid in the freshening of your refrigerator all without the negative side effects of ozone that can be found in many other standard ionizers. Unfortunately what I have learned about air purifiers recently is many of them kick out too high of an ozone, essentially trading one bad thing for another; not the Ionic Fridge Air Purifier by Oransi. It’s been tested for ozone production by the ITI (Industrial Research Technology Institute) and found to be 0.011ppm, which is 78% below FDA limits; this all sounds like mumbo-jumbo to me too, but good mumbo-jumbo, right? Ozone gases in the environment are clearly not good, so less in the home certainly has got to better for our families.

The Ionic Fridge Air Purifier is super easy to use; it works off of 2 AA batteries, and has no filters to replace, ever! You just put in the batteries and pop it in your fridge. It’s super tiny, so there are a number of places it will fit. You can see from the image it’s just a little bigger that the yogurt containers that are in front of it. Other recommendations are storage closets, and cabinets. I think adding one of these to our shoe closet would do wonders!

Another reason to love this company is Oransi gives back to the community by donating 5% of their income to promoting student interest in the sciences, math and engineering; helping to ensure that we’ll continue to thrive in these sectors in the future.

I highly suggest you take a look at the wonderful products that Oransi has to offer. You can purchase your own Oransi Fridge Air Purifier directly from their website, and in doing so know you are supporting an American company employing American employees.

  4. This would be very needed in my fridge. My husband loves to make salsas with raw onion or raw garlic, which he then proceeds to store in the fridge! Even my ice cubes taste of garlic!

  6. I just subscribed! My fridge is always stinky even though I scrub it – it’s because we like garlic-y foods and cheeses and such. I’d love to see what this could do – and then I’d love to try the room deodorizer. We have 3 dogs and 2 kids who make a lot of yucky smells!!!
