Child Passenger Safety Week – Time to Review Car Safety

September has come around again, and with it comes Child Passenger Safety Week. What better time to focus on the safety of our children as they ride along with us in our cars as our most precious cargo? September seems like the perfect time to add some extra focus to our children’s safety, as it is the month when the children begin the new school year. During this time, we, as parents, are not only continuing to focus on the many areas of importance that already center around our children, but we now have a new set of issues to keep in the forefront of our minds as well. New schedules, new sports and after school activities, not to mention making everything fit into a daily schedule that is already overflowing.

One of the most important issues we will ever address will be maintaining the safety of our children as passengers in any vehicle, including, and especially, our own. Car seats are a product that Child Passenger Safety Week stresses by encouraging parents to provide a safe, durable car seat for their children. Diono’s Radian XRT car seat is the one that my family has been using for several years and it has provided safety in traveling for our children time after time. It is built with a 12 position adjustable head rest, EPS foam to provide extra support, and a steel alloy frame. Everything about this seat says “safety”. It securely seats children from infant to 45 pounds facing the rear of the car. Once children are past the 45-pound mark and the seat can be turned to face front, Diono’s Radian XRT provides a secure five-point harness for added support as they to grow. When they reach 80 pounds, the seat converts into a booster seat that will continue to provide them with safe, secure seating until they reach the weight of 120 pounds and no longer need the use of a car seat.

Diono’s Radian XRT is FAA certified and designed to last a good ten years. It will last for every year that my children need it, adjusting to each of their height and weight as they grow. With the features provided by Diono’s Radian XRT, we will never need to purchase another car seat. It is installed easily with its own SuperLATCH system, and provides the most guarded protection possible for children. It has been NCAP crash tested, which is the method by which child car seat safety is measured. Its sides are expandable and its seat is made longer for extra leg support. Its cover is machine washable, and the seat folds flat for transport outside of the car. Carry straps are sold separately that can be attached to the seat in order to conveniently wear it as a backpack. In a mid-sized vehicle, the seat will fit comfortably three across. Customers have their choice of colors including black cobalt, black mist, scarlet, essex, and black plum.

As a mom of two little ones of different ages, I feel secure in the knowledge that this seat provides reliable support for my children every time we venture out, no matter how long or short the ride. The satisfaction with the product lies within the peace of mind it provides.

  1. Every year our town and the fire dept host a child seat clinic!! Good to know if its in the car right and apparently you are supposed to not have a snow suit etc on the child when you have them in a car seat ..this I did not know, and with our -30C winters here, I guess there’s a reason so many parents just don’t travel to the city as much.
