Episencial Fun Summer Skincare Value Kit Review And Giveaway
You cannot keep my girls inside for more than an hour before they are clamoring to go back outside to play. Living in Atlanta we can enjoy the outdoors pretty much year-round. When it gets to be April, though, the weather turns to almost summer-like temperatures and I know that my girls need some serious sun protection for their developing skin.
Episencial sent us a summer skincare kit just in time for the first part of the Atlanta “summer”. I was thrilled to learn that Episencial products are formulated specifically for newborns and children’s sensitive, developing skin.
Knowing how much their skin can absorb, it was great to know that the SunnySunscreen is so much more than just an SPF 35 sunscreen. Made with ingredients I know and can pronounce (!), the Sunny Sunscreen is fortified with green tea extract (organic no less!) to help protect from sun damage, complimented with organic seed oils, and then mixed with organic shea butter and beeswax to boost its water resistance. My girls weren’t concerned about the ingredients but they did love the adorable Eric Carle illustrations on the packaging.
The Fun Summer Skincare Value Kit is only $14.99–the same price as the SunnySunscreen on its own–but included inside are $15 worth of extra products. Not only do you get the 4oz. tube of SunnySunscreen but you also receive two smaller tubes of their incredible soothing and protective skincare products. The .75 oz tube of Protective Face Balm (SPF 6) was featured on a Good Morning America Health segment for its healthy attributes–it includes vitamins A, D, C, and E partially derived from cranberry extract, grape seed, and organic raspberry juice. We’ve used it every day and my girls have yet to get any rough patches on their face from the heat and sun exposure!
Additionally, you’ll find a .75 oz tube of their very popular Soothing Cream which helps skin rehydrate and stay healthy–should any dry patches occur, we will definitely be applying this soothing cream to my girls’ skin but it’s good to know you can also use this cream for diaper rashes and eczema!
After using the products found in the Fun Summer Skincare Value Kit for a week, I came away a huge fan of Episencial. Their products work–my girls never even had a hint of sunburn on their skin–and we’ve been in swimsuits and tank tops so lots of skin was exposed!
When we ran through our sprinkler, I noticed that the Sunny Sunscreen stayed on and didn’t need to be reapplied right away. I loved the non-greasy Protective Face Balm and even used it for myself! It didn’t clog my pores and it did not run off my face while I was running (and sweating!) in the sun.
I loved that I knew what ingredients they had in each product and that each ingredient served a soothing, protective purpose. Using these Episencial products soothed this protective mama’s fears–i know that when using the products inside the Fun SummerSkincare Value Kit we’ll be safe from burns and unnecessary chemical exposure!

Dr. Robin for Kids Sunscreen Review
Fun time under the sun is simply irresistible to kids. We see them atop their bicycles, hopping around the garden, or crawling in their bellies though the sun is bright and shining. That is just how it is with kids, we passed that stage ourselves and we know that making them go inside just because you worry for their skin is not the thing to do. Because the best thing to do is to let them enjoy Mr. Sun, at the same time help activate Vitamin D making them healthier than staying indoors all the time. Let them, but be assured that they are protected from the harmful UVA and UVB sunrays with Dr. Robin.
Dr. Robin SPF 30+ sunscreen is all natural and chemical free, which was made specifically for children. Dr. Robin sunscreen has been formulated by a Pediatric Dermatologist. It contains all natural ingredients that are gentle but effective. Found therein are Quinoa and Oat for soothing hydration, Green Tea Extract in preventing damage from free radicals, and Quick fade technology for ease of application. Obviously, everything was combined with the thought that they will be used for the sensitive and vulnerable skin of children. I would not want to expose my little girl with further harmful pollutants she get from our environment by directly putting chemicals in her mere 3 year old skin, and so I make sure only the safest is for her. And that is Dr. Robin.
For such delicate skin Dr. Robin can be trusted not to give your kid allergies because it actually is specially formulated to minimize allergic reactions. It is gluten free. It has no nanotechnology therefore toxicity and environmental issues not a concern. Included compounds titatanium dioxide and zinc oxide to spare them the avoided elements from the sun are even proven safe because they are natural minerals; and though gentle to skin it is effective.
Broad spectrum chemical free SPF 30+ sunscreen, Dr. Robin, is guaranteed effective in avoiding skin diseases caused by the harmful UVA and UVB that may lead to cancer. And now that the summer season is upon us, it is much more appropriate that you have Dr. Robin sunscreen in your bag at all times. Not only can you use it on your kid while she plays in the playground but also during the most loved dip in the pool. It is water resistant therefore most recommendable as sunscreen during your summer outings.
Let your kid enjoy the sun as my kid does…but let your kid also be as safe as my kid. Use protection to sun exposure. Use the safest. Use Dr. Robins.
Loving Naturals – The Best Sunscreen on Earth Review and Giveaway
August 10, 2009 by Vivian
Filed under Baby Skin Care, featured, Giveaways
Babies, like all of us, love being outdoors. For both your own sense of well-being and your baby’s, you will want to have the right protection for different kinds of weather. For This Summer season, I am sure you will want to spend more quality time with your baby or child in the park if not on the beach. This summer try to take your child outdoor more so they can enjoy the fresh air, soothing wind and warm sunshine. The sun gives life to everything on earth including the essential Vitamin D for your baby or child to grow. The sunshine we get these days comes with a cost, skin cancer, if we don’t properly protect ourselves from getting too much exposure to it. Having said that using sunscreen whenever one is exposed to the sun is important. You can easily find brands of sunscreens in the market but most if not all of them come with chemical contents that might cause health issue for extensive use of such products. Natural sunscreen that contains no harmful chemical would be the ideal choice for you and your family.
For an infant’s skin is too sensitive for sunscreen and sun exposure. Before your baby is six months old, it is critical for you to use physical, not chemical, barriers to shield your baby’s skin” long-sleeved lightweight clothing and hats with brims and flaps over the neck. You will be able to find UV-blocking fabrics on the market, but a thin layer of clothing should be sufficient.
When your baby is old enough and when chemical protection/barriers become an option, you definitely want to choose a best possible natural product for him/her. A good natural sunscreen certainly will be useful at times-in summer, especially at swimming pools, so choose your sunscreen carefully. A non-petroleum-based UVA/UVB-blocking product is your best choice. The importance of choosing a natural sunscreen cannot be underestimated. The main chemical, para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), used in most sun lotions to filter out UV rays has been found to be toxic and the severity of this toxic increases tremendously when exposed to sunlight. Studies have also shown that all sunscreen agents penetrate our skin after they are applied to our skin. When selecting a natural sunscreen, make sure you look for Zinc Oxide, these are considered to be the least harmful in terms of absorption.
Here is the study from Loving Naturals,
Zinc Oxide is the only ingredient we have found that effectively provides
superior protection against UVA and UVB and which we feel comfortable using
on our children. Zinc Oxide has a long history of use as a safe sunscreen
agent, skin protectant, and as a treatment for skin disorders. It is also
widely known as the main ingredient in most diaper rash creams and is
considered safe for use on infants and sensitive skin.
A note about Titanium Dioxide:
Many sunscreen companies that consider themselves natural and safe use
titanium dioxide. After doing our own research, we became very uncomfortable
with this ingredient. It is a mineral like zinc oxide, but it is highly
photoreactive, meaning it generates harmful free radicals when it reacts
with light and can even cause a severe burn, worse than if no sunscreen was
used. Irradiated particles of titanium dioxide can cause oxidative damage to
DNA, which can lead to the development of skin cancers.
We are happy that we found a product which is natural and is free of harmful toxic chemicals. The SPF 30+ Sunscreen by “Loving Naturals”, a Company that produce only environmental and organic products, is the best choice. This company cares about the health of its customers as well of the well being of our fragile earth. The SPF 30+ Sunscreen by Loving Naturals is 100% Natural/organic and it works to block off UVA and UVB. All the ingredients are safe to use on babies and even can be beneficial for the baby’s skin. This product is also suitable for all skin type and is water resistant and non-creasy. Just a friendly reminder, you may want to test on a small portion of your baby’s skin to see how it reacts before using it all over in the sun because infant’s skin can be very sensitive and unpredictable.
I was very happy to receive a 60ml sample of the SPF30+ Sunscreen from Loving Naturals. I used it on both my skin and my precious little one’s, the feel was good, it was not greasy at all. I did not get sunburn after being on the beach for more than two hours and my baby was also perfectly protected. I am very happy with the result of this sunscreen and I would recommend everyone who loves the sun to buy and use it. This product is also very gentle that it can be considered a perfect product for your babies or your entire family.
I also want to announce that Loving Naturals is very pleased to offer to one of my readers a 60ml sunscreen, similar to the one we received, as part of its product promotion. Loving Naturals wants you to use its 100% natural and organic product and it feels that if you are happy about the quality of its products, good words will spread quickly and widely in the world wide web.
