Baggino Learner’s Bib Review

Try as I might to guide a spoonful of food into my infant’s mouth without a spill, her bib is entirely covered in baby food before we’re halfway through with lunch. The problem with the mess on the bib is that our bibs only cover half of her outfit…and the other half is still getting food on it!

No longer!

We were thrilled to review the Designer Baggino Learner’s Bib. This bib is called a “learner’s” bib because it is primarily designed for children who are learning to self-feed. The same can be said, however, for infants who are learning to eat solids for the first time! In our household, we have a 2-year old self-feeder and a 7-month old new eater. We found that the Baggino Learner’s Bib was perfect for both of them and blows our other bibs out of the water!

The Baggino Learner’s Bib comes in a variety of styles–their classic style is made of white terry material with fun trim colors–red, pink, green, and light or dark blue. They also have Designer styles for girls–made on pink terry bibs with red trim, these adorable designer bibs are appliqued with a cupcake, dots, or a peace sign.

My two-year old is currently cupcake-crazed so this toddler bib could not have been more perfect for her. Catherine likes to think that she is old enough to eat without a bib but, unfortunately, her clothes are proof that it isn’t true. We often have “bib battles” where she’ll refuse to put on a bib–but those battles are non-existent now that she has a cupcake bib!

Catherine is very tall for her age (she measures as a 3-year old) so the fact that the arm sleeves are long enough for her is a testament that these bibs will grow with your child for a long time. The other great feature of this bib is the long lap portion–it covers her lap where all of her food usually falls.

After using the bib on my toddler, I was excited to try the Design Learner’s Bib on my 7-month old. While a little big, it more than accomplished it’s job–keeping my messy baby’s outfit clean for the duration of the meal!

Of course, while my daughters’ clothes were not dirty post-meal, the bib took the brunt of their meal mess. The only downfall I see in this bib is that you have to wash it after nearly every use (granted, washing needs clearly depend on how messy your child gets at mealtime!). The great thing about this bib, though, is that it looks as good as new when it comes out of the wash–no matter what food my girls spill on it!

In only two uses, I immediately saw what a great investment these learner bibs make–at just $12.50 for the Classic Learner Bib or $15 for the Design Learner Bib these infant and toddler bibs are a steal–these bibs are one size and fit from the time you start your child on solids to the time they’re in preschool. Not only that, but these bibs will save your children’s clothes from stains which will save you money in the long run!
