As the days grow shorter and colder, it’s time to start getting ready for winter. You’re probably pulling all the snow boots and winter pants and hats and mittens out of storage. Of course, if your children are anything like mine, half the stuff from last year doesn’t even fit anymore. But before you head to your newest mega mart, you should check out the amazing winter boots from Stonz Wear.

Stonz Wear was started by a mom who lives in Canada, so you know she gets how to make kids’ boots. There are two parts to the boot: the Booties and the Linerz. The Booties are made from a vibrantly colored nylon that is wind and water resistant, and lined with fleece for extra warmth. They’re totally designed with kids in mind: skid-resistant soles, wide openings so they’re easier to put on and toggles at the calf and ankle of the boot to keep the boot fitting nice and snug. Even better, they’re machine washable!

The Booties can be worn over regular shoes, slippers or bare feet, depending on the temperature and the activity. However, they can also be worn with the Stonz Linerz once the wind chill really drops. The Linerz are designed to go inside the boot, and are made of super warm and comfy Sherpa-fleece to keep little toes nice and toasty. They’re extra long, so they can be either folded over the boot to keep snow from getting in, or worn up under the pants, to protect the shins. Like the Booties, the Linerz are machine wash and dry, so if they get wet after a long day sledding, you can just throw them in the drier.

Although snow hasn’t started falling where I live, I wanted to try these out on my daughter and luckily I had a chance to review them. The boots feel really strong and durable; you can tell they hold up under all kinds of conditions. The Linerz are super warm, in fact, I kind of wish they made them in my size. The perfect thing is that the boots can go over pretty much anything, so if I ever have to take my daughter somewhere in her pajamas, I can just slip these over her footie pajamas, and we’ll be good to go.
