Scholastic StoryPlay Books Review and Giveaway (2 Winners)

Scholastic StoryPlay

I love reading to my children. I love reading with my children as well. Reading stories together, whether they read and I listen, or I play narrator while they do the listening, provides us with not only quality time together, but quiet time shared while letting our imaginations take us to new places.

storyplay

Scholastic has given us new opportunities to visit different characters and places together as we share story time that literally “takes us away”.

snuggle bunny

Snuggle Bunny: A StoryPlay Book, introduces little readers to an adorable bunny who just loves to cuddle. This book is geared more toward toddlers and preschoolers, and my little guy just manages to squeak under the wire for that age group! Although he is growing by leaps and bounds, and his interests are changing and expanding as he goes, he is still small enough to appreciate a good cuddle once in awhile! Snuggle Bunny: A StoryPlay Book reaches out and touches that part of him that enjoys the lines that rhyme and the cute character traits of this charming and captivating little bunny. This book is a part of Scholastic’s StoryPlay Book series in which every book focuses on a life topic that is age appropriate. Snuggle Bunny focuses on socialization.

I Love You Because You’re You

I Love You Because You’re You, another winning book in Scholastic’s StoryPlay Book series, gets right to the heart of human emotion. This story delves into the relationship between a little boy fox and his mom. Throughout the book, emphasis is also put on how to tell the difference between the various animals playing a role in the story. These rhyming books hold a child’s attention in a type of sing song way, while consistently providing the parent with opportunities to share questions and answers that arise about emotions, about people, even about animals!

Shoe-La-La

Shoe-La-La: A StoryPlay Book by Scholastic is another book in the StoryPlay Book series, this one geared toward older children, giving my daughter and me an opportunity to share a fun and informative story time together. Little girls love shoes, as a rule, and this book brings us to a place where we can just imagine ourselves surrounded by dozens of shoes, discussing which ones we would choose as our perfect party shoes and why. We read on as each of the four girlfriends in the story shop for and choose the party shoes each one likes best. Shoe-La-La focuses on self expression, and shows children that it is ok to be yourself and even think “outside the box” once in awhile.

Dinosaurumpus

For the junior dinosaur lovers and budding palaeontologists of the toddler world, Scholastic has created Dinosaurumpus: A StoryPlay Book. Colorful dinosaurs dance and rhyme their way through the pages of this book, bringing the love of science to our little ones. Following these happy, smiling anachronistic friends will lead children into an ancient world that will tickle their imaginations and make them want to know more.

Additional books in Scholastic’s StoryPlay Book series each turn their focus to another life topic appropriate to the reading level of the children each book is written for. Whether staying close to home in the present or going back in time to another land, reading together with our children is the perfect way to travel!

  11. I would like to win these, because my children consume books like they consume AIR…. and the cool thing is, that once they outgrow books, they get passed down to my class of 0-5 year olds.
