I also like the fact that it is not specifically geared toward any specific team. I pulled up the site and had a look with my own children and my son was especially interested in the NHL Arena. My daughter was particularly interested in the Zamboni machine set and they immediately went and added these to their Christmas lists!
The arena looks like it is going to be a blast and I am secretly hoping that “Santa” comes through for my son. It reminds me of the old table top hockey sets of my own youth. I think we will get a lot of use out of that one as a family as well.
With the Zamboni set, there is even a video up on the Playmobil site that talks about getting to drive the Zamboni, and they show the Zamboni being used in conjunction with the Arena set to “clean” the “ice.” So, it may even do wonders to encourage my kids to play cooperatively together.
That is a total mom bonus for me because anything that encourages my kids to play together calmly, cooperatively and quietly is a total win-win in my book, wouldn’t you agree?
