Simple and smart. And how simple are the toys we got from PlaSmart? We have the Smart Mat which is a multi-purpose play mat, and a wobbly finger car called Wonky Wheels. But don’t let their simplicity fool you. These goodies actually made me and my kids realize how something so simple could turn out even more fun and exciting than all the other fancy and expensive toys out there.

The Smart Mat is basically a car play mat with an illustrated play surface design for your kids’ toys. We have the HappyVille design where kids can play with all their toy cars, buses and trucks. There’s also the TrainTown design where kids can roll their toy trains like Thomas and Chuggington, and CastleTown where boys and girls can let their toy horse carriages and unicorns roam around. But of course, there are no rules with imaginative play, so it’s totally fine to let a bullet train drive around CastleTown! Aside from toy vehicles, toy figures and just about other toys are welcome to roam around the playmat’s imaginative setting.

That’s just a clever must-have toy for every family. I love that it lets kids play with no mess, no missing parts problems, no hassle in assembling a race track, and that it’s much better because the whole giant car play mat features a bright, colourful illustration of elaborate roads and community establishments where kids can use all of their toy vehicles on them. It’s made of EVA foam so it’s very durable and easy to clean. Its easy roll-up for packing away also makes it portable and convenient for indoor and outdoor use. I love the Smart Mat so much because it does serve a lot of purposes indeed, we can use it forever even when my kids grow old! Because it’s a giant mat (minimum size 78″ x 46″ / 199cm x 118 cm), it’s fun to cuddle on it as a family, or even do yoga, and bring to picnics.

And a fun, challenging way to play with the Smart Mat is the Wonky Wheels finger car! This clever toy looks so simple but it can drive you crazy! It’s so wobbly so you need to work your fingers to enable it to drive straight or turn correctly to follow road curves. Again, it looks so simply made but it’s such a challenge to control! I thought my kids might get frustrated when moving it, but it gave us all a good laugh on how cute and funny it wobbles!

Wonky Wheels is recommended for kids aged 3 and up, but it’s quite a big-sized car so it’s safe for little hands to hold. Its way of moving and of being handled definitely helps improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. And because it’s very challenging but fun to maneuvre, it’s great for finger car races! It’s so awesome that it won Preferred Choice Award in the Kids Toys category of the 2014 Creative Child Magazine in 2014.
