Just as any parent, I have started getting ready for the upcoming school season and stacked up a few clothes for my little girl. Luckily, to add to my princess’ wardrobe, delivered to me was this really adorable jacket tagged ‘Rumor Has It’ from the ever-growing Peekaboo Beans.

I just fell in love with it at first sight — it was truly a love at first sight! The color I got is absolutely perfect, really charming and it compliments my daughter just as lovely. It looks really good on her and I love that! I think the hues pretty match and express a child’s vibrant aura, especially for a little girl like mine.

It comes in pastel shades of Cotton Candy Blue, Taffy Rose and Giggle Green. It is a zip-up jacket with thumbholes for free movement to do away with the sleeves rolling up, and is detailed with ruffles on the neckline — very girly, indeed! It’s made with a very cozy fabric and is meant to last for years so I could just pass it on when she outgrows them. When wearing it to my daughter, the fabric feels really warm and nice to touch and feel. I definitely find it really comfortable for children to wear everyday and to go along with them for every activity they do in school or play.

The best part of being a Peekaboo Beans loyal fan, as I love their clothes as much as I love what their clothes do for my daughter’s comfort, is they support the Play Revolution. This advocacy encourages parents to let children play and let them be “just kids”. This is not referring to any play, but free and unstructured play, different to sports or recreational games that has rules or restrictions that hampers the idea of just being playful children. Not that they must not engage in sports, but free play is much different and is way more beneficial. It is a vital part of a child’s development that free play is urged among kids as they grow. It helps them in a lot of ways and is like eating and breathing alone. Letting them play is letting them explore the world outside, be creative, show social skills, be better children, and, eventually, be a better person for the community they belong to. More and more parents should be aware of the benefits that unstructured play give to growing children no matter what their age are.

With this, Peekaboo Beans continuously embrace the Play revolution by matching every $1 sale from their Play Stylists. These proceeds will directly go to the Playground Builders, a dedicated Canadian charity that supports the same campaign. Funds will be used to construct community playgrounds to provide a safe and fun place for children to play, from uptown to lowly communities. It is through this that hopefully, parents will gain awareness of how essential free play is and that a child missing out on it is a child missing out on a big part of their childhood. Now, loving parents wouldn’t want that for their precious children, would they?
