Organic Play Mat by Panda Mat – The Perfect Tummy Time Protection #Giveaway

Most baby play mats are made of foam with little letters and numbers that you can pull apart.  Those can be dangerous because once baby is strong enough, he will tend to grab and gnaw on those pieces.  And though he won’t be able to chew through them, there are chemicals in the foam that should not be ingested by our little ones. I would highly recommend to use a non-toxic, organic play mat for our babies.

And we found a solution to that, the Panda Mat, a Non-Toxic, Eco-Friendly, Safe, Organic play mat. With this mat, we can let baby make the most of his tummy time and we don’t have to worry unnecessarily.  And it’s not just for babies’ tummy time, older kids can have fun on it, too.

The Panda Mat is an activity mat designed for babies to practise their motor skills, but it’s not just your average activity mat.  It encourages your baby to practise walking and crawling on it.

So why do we adore this organic play mat?

1. NO CHEMICALS.  People have been talking about the toxic chemicals found in the usual playmats.  But the Panda mat does not have formamide, heavy metals, phthalates, formaldehyde, PFOA’s, PVC, harmful fire retardant chemicals or Azo Dyes.  The manufacturers made sure to test the product and they even show the results on their website.  Baby can just roll around on this organic play mat and you don’t have to be afraid of him touching the mat and any chemicals there and then putting his hand in his mouth.

2.  It’s SOFT.  It’s hard enough for baby to walk around and crawl on but not too hard.  Since, it’s a 1” thick mat made of organic cotton, baby can play on it with no danger of injuring himself when he falls.  Baby can even lie on it and nap when he feels tired.

3.  It’s ECO-FRIENDLY.  Babies will inevitably drool, spit up or just crawl around with sticky fingers.  You can keep the playmat clean by removing the quilted cover and washing it so you can reuse it several times.  It’s actually easy to wash, you’d be surprised at how light it is. Sometimes I just vacuum to clean it.

4.  It’s HUGE.  The whole mat measures 4′ wide x 6′ long.  There’s enough space for both of my kids to mess about and play on it.  It’s like a nice, soft family blanket, but much better.

5.  It’s EDUCATIONAL.  The colorful cartoon pictures on the mat illustrate a vibrant nature scene with the panda in a small pond, the sky, trees, flowers and animals.  You can also see cute panda footprints and the kids enjoy walking along those.

I suppose one of the few drawbacks to the thing is the price.  But I can tell you that it will definitely give you bang for your buck because of its quality and durability.

Another drawback would be the design.  After all, the name is Panda, and so, the only design they have is that of… a panda.  But,  all things considered, my kids love it and like the design.  I think all kids love pandas (Think Kung Fu Panda).

Overall, it’s a great find, and I wish I’d gotten this non-toxic, organic playmat sooner.

  1. A soft mat is a great tool for a baby and tummy time, but will also be great for a toddler to play on. I love that it is easy to clean and is educational. My daughter would love this.
