Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as it fuels your little ones for their busy day ahead. Therefore, as a parent, it is very important to ensure that the little ones receive a nutritional breakfast every day. However, it is not always easy to accomplish because as parents know, getting the little ones ready for school can become a rush, which means you have to find a quick breakfast cereal that is not only delicious, but at the same time nutritious.
As a family, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies has always been a favorite, our children love the sound of the snap, crackle and pop the cereal makes and eats the cereal without any fuss. Therefore, when I received a box of the newly launched Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Multi-Grain Shapes Cereal, I was eager to try it.
The cereal contains a mixture of three important grains – rice, oats and maize and includes a natural probiotic that assists with digesting of the food and promotes the overall health of your little one. Additionally, the cereal also boasts a lot of vitamins and minerals that your little ones will need to tackle their daily routine, The cereal is also fun, as it is shaped into four different shapes – a fish, tree, star and little person that I think your child should identify with as themselves. It also offers you flexibility as you can serve the cereal with milk for breakfast, dry as a snack or even use it in delicious, but nutritious recipes.
I tasted it myself the first day I received it and was quite impressed with the delicious and crunchy taste it had to offer, however, I must advise that it will still become soggy if you leave it to soak in the milk too long. The real test was when I served it the next day with my little boy and girl for breakfast instead of their original cereal. I was staring on nervously as they inspected the cereal, my little boy even going as far as smelling it. I was worried for a bit until they took their first bite and started munching away. They even finished the leftover milk in their bowls, which I normally struggle to get them to do. Still the verdict that they really liked it was only visible when they asked me for it very nicely the next day, calling it the shape cereal.
Since then, I have even given a bit to them as a snack in between meals. Listening to them tell stories about the little shapes and having their own little adventures while eating. It has truly become their new favorite cereal. I will definitely recommend it to any parents, but especially to those that might struggle with their little ones to eat their breakfast. It is not only nutritious, but the taste and fun shapes will definitely help your little ones and you enjoy breakfast time a bit more. I also like the design of the box, as they kept the original elves that you get on the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal, but instead of symbolizing Snap, Crackle and Pop – it symbolizes the three grains present in the cereal. Something I believe is quite creative, especially for a cereal that uses the boosting of children’s imagination and creativity as a selling point.
