Non-Toxic Comfort Design Mats Review

This is going to be one of those moments when you kick yourself and yell out, “Why didn’t I think of that?!”  If you’re a parent or have ever just been around kids, you’re probably very familiar with those cutesy rubber mats shaped like the alphabet. Kids love them.  But, because of the toy-like design, they really aren’t fit to display in any location that adults would frequent.  Nobody wants a huge mat with bright primary colors covering their living room floor.  It looks a little chaotic, and clashes terribly with everything else in the room. But, in theory, the idea of having a soft area for kids to play on in the main living space is nice. Let me introduce you to Comfort Design Mats

Here comes that moment I was talking about. Comfort Design Mats has created a play mat that looks like a regular area rug. Let me say that again. The same designs you would see on Pinterest are available on a play mat made for children!  I’m not making this up.  These low-maintenance mats really do look just like a rug that you would normally spend a good part of your life vacuuming and scrubbing.  If you regularly find yourself on your hands and knees with a bottle of carpet cleaner battling juice stains, your salvation has come.

These mats come in soft, neutral color schemes that will fit with any décor.  And, the prints that cascade across the mats aren’t just OK…they’re awesome. Many of them are trendy graphic prints, such as lattice, trellis and big botanical prints. Or, if your husband gets a little fussy about pretty things, there is an option for a more subdued, versatile black linen mat that is still on-trend, but super low-key.

Designed to feel great, Comfort Design Mats are made with a thick cushion so that you and your little one can be comfortable on the floor. We all know that kids spend a ton of time on the floor, and thus, we spend a lot of time on the floor with them, and these mats a great way to help everyone stay cozy.

And, you can really think outside of the box with these mats.  Besides living rooms, they would also be ideal for use in a dining room.  If you’ve wanted to spruce up your dining room, but have resisted a rug because of the massive amount of food that gets hurled off of the table, these mats are something to consider as an alternative.

Each mat is hypoallergenic, waterproof and wipes off easily with a damp cloth. They are made of durable non-toxic foam, which makes them safe for the entire family.  The mats have been tested and certified by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, and are confirmed to be free of latex, BPA, PVC, EVA, and formamide.  They measure about 6 1/2′ x 4 1/2′, making them a great replacement for an area rug.

One of the benefits of choosing Comfort Design Mats over regular play mats is the durability.  Those ABC mats come with a low price tag, but you get what you pay for.  They are cheap and poorly made, certainly not meant to last more than a couple of years.  They rip, shed, and potentially leave a terrible mess all over your house.  Plus, the removable letters end up under the couch, in cabinets, and any other strange place the kids can think to put things.  So what you have left is a ratty looking mat that is missing half the letters after a couple of months.  Not to mention the fact that we don’t know what’s actually in them.  There are likely tons of chemicals used in the creation of those mats.  Comfort Design Mats eliminates all of these issues.

And the mats continue to useful as your children get older. Unlike mats that are designed to look like children’s items, Comfort Design Mats will continue to bring your family joy for years to come. Instead of throwing it away because it is no longer age-appropriate, you can continue to enjoy its benefits long after your children have gotten out of the baby and toddler stage. When your kids are teenagers and want to have their friends over for snacks, you don’t have to worry about them spilling things. And you never have to be concerned that there isn’t enough room for company, because these plush mats extend your seating area. When you have a room full of people and not enough seats, people will be more than happy to take a seat on the floor when they have such a comfortable spot to sprawl out on.

Comfort Design Mats are surprisingly affordable, even if you have a fairly modest budget. They cost about the same that you would pay for a low-end fabric rug.  However, they are much easier to take care of and will probably last a lot longer considering the lifespan of anything fabric when you have young children.
