Hasbro Games – Family Game Night Review And Giveaway

The “playful us” just never grows up…it will always be a part of us to want to have fun, to beat each other and to learn even the simplest of things.

We gather as a family on weekends to strengthen the bonds and to give each other time to be with one another and we put out cardboard games. Recently I received five games from Hasbro Canada for reivew. The most common would be the PICTIONARY. What a memorable day it would be to see dad trying his best to draw what those cards of Hasbro Pictionary says and mom on the other team trying so much to guess it in the allotted one minute. I tell you, the children can’t help giggling and having so much fun when tried with eyes tied with bandanas. I should know, we do have it and it is one of the favorites of the family.

Hasbro has so many fun games to offer. I brought out a few of them to my friends’ places during our kids gathering. My group of friends especially loved the new CRANIUM. It is the next version since the 1998 one. It now includes a board game but is as fun as it was before. A whole hour or a whole night of laughter with question upon question to beat each other either with the most precise mimic of a celebrity for another to guess, the fastest word twister, or revelation of facts to dwell on. Wit and talent to send a message across is how I see the game. And amongst friends, it’s more of the teasing than the superiority over another. Definitely a great way to know more of each other, don’t you think?

Just as it is with my THE GAME OF THINGS where you can tell how you know your friends and how they think. In the game there will be an idea presented that will warrant different responses and you get to tell whose idea such probably came from like when asked what a monkey is thinking as it looks out of his cage to visitors of the zoo. Who would probably answer that the monkey thinks “this girl looks just like me” or “are you my lost dad?” The Game of Things is game that brings out the playful and funny us that may be hidden inside a calm façade.

A few weeks back, my teenage cousin went camping and brought him TABOO. Quick wit is important with Taboo since you will have to describe a word without mentioning too obvious descriptions like red, fruit, pie, core or cider for the word apple. It would have to be something like “eat this once a day to keep the doctors away” and the likes. Those to guess will also have to be great and fast in picking up to what the clue giver is trying to convey.

TRIVIAL PURSUIT is another game most liked by teenagers, but I do so too though I’m long over teenage life. 6 categories: Personalities, Entertainment, In the news, Around the world, Sports and Leisure, and Wild card has to be completed to win.

Playing is not just for the sake of playing and having fun, it also is an important tool to free yourself of stress, to extend a hand to those who might be stressed, to spend quality time with love ones and to continue growing as an individual and as a family or a group.
