Summer is giving away to Fall, which means that the weather is becoming slightly cooler. However, as the season changes, it is not only the weather that changes, but also fashion trends after all, even the trees change their clothing for the change in season. As a result, this means more shopping for parents to find the perfect shoes for their little ones that will keep them warm during the chilly weather, is comfortable, works with almost any outfit and still remains fashionable. Umi as always, have come to the rescue, with their new Fall fashion line. I received two pairs of the shoes in their new line to review.
A pair of their Chiara II ankle high girls’ boots for my little princess and a pair of Bodi B boys shoes for my little prince. The Chiara II ankle high girls’ boots come in three different colors – black, chocolate and olive – of which my daughter received the chocolate color. The boots have a genuine leather upper, which makes it sturdy and durable and a neoprene lining and manmade foot-bed that ensures your child’s comfort while wearing the shoes. It also sports two buckles, which give the boot a biker boot kind of style as mentioned on the Umi website.
The Bodi B boys’ shoes on the other hand, are available in the following colors – brown tumbled, olive and navy – of which my boy received the navy color. The upper part of the shoe and linings consist of genuine breathable leather. It has a slight sheen to the leather outer, that gives the look of a dress shoe, but is comfortable enough to wear as an everyday shoe. It fastens with a hook and loop strap that makes it a lot easier for your little one to put on his shoes himself. These shoes have been designed for your growing toddlers to provide their feet with the sturdiness needed while their feet and ankles are growing. When they are still learning to walk properly the upper part of the shoe will provide your toddler’s ankles with firmness without compromising the look and style of this great shoe.
As soon as I received the packages with the shoes, I gave them to the real testers – my little ones to inspect and test. I helped my little prince put on his shoes with no hassles as he is still a bit too small to do it himself. The shoe comes with a contrasting hook-and-loop that will teach your toddler to put on his own shoes when they are ready to be able to do just that. Which will be a blessing to me and I am sure for many other mothers too! The Bodi B shoe has been designed to be able to even survive the wet and harshest weather outside. My little prince just loves his Bodi B shoes so much and insists on wearing it all the time, even inside the house.
I must admit that when I gave my little girl her pair of boots, I was a bit nervous as she is at the stage where she is starting to form her own little identity when it comes to her clothing. I sometimes have found that she does not always like the things that I think she might like. Thankfully, she loved the style of her Chiara II ankle high boots and immediately tried them on, the zipper not giving her any hassles. She hardly had them on when she zipped off her room, where I found her compiling outfits that she could wear with her new boots and smiling from ear to ear. Since then she has worn the boots very day, mixing and matching them with different outfits. She never once complained that they are uncomfortable.
Therefore, I highly recommend that you invest some money in a pair of these shoes for your own little ones as they are of a wonderful quality, are comfortable and versatile and still fashionable. However, if your little ones do not like these shoes – Umi has a whole Fall line still that they can fall in love with.
