Exploring Scenic Caves Nature Adventure: A Family Hub Destination

Taking a trip once in a while is something that we do as a family. Aside from the fact that we see this as a chance to bond, it is also a way of detoxing our lives from busy city life. We’ve been to a lot of places already, and one of the recent adventures we’ve had was the Scenic Caves getaway. In this place, we were able to enjoy every bit off it, and I can honestly say that we are looking forward to being here once more. But what makes the Scenic Caves special? Well, the first one is the convenience of the place. Coming from Toronto, it only took us about two hours to reach the destination, near by Blue Mountain. Who would ever thought that in such a short period of travel time awaits a great adventure?

The Scenic Caves Nature Adventure has situated in one of Canada’s sixteen UNESCO biosphere reserves. With that, expect that being here means union with the natural environment. The luscious green surroundings, the breeze of fresh air, and the humming of birds will give you the much-needed relaxation and recreation.

Scenic Caves gemstone mining

As for the kids, my 6-year old son had a fantastic time trying the mini-golf and gemstone mining. For the first activity, it became a great bonding time between our son and us. We managed to help him know the basics of golf, and at the same time, he was able to spend quality golf time with other newly found friends. As for gemstone mining, it was something fun and educational. The entire family loved digging on the boxes, looking for gems which serve as souvenirs.

In the above vidoe, my 11-year old daughter, along with my husband had a fantastic time taking the Thunderbird Twin Zipline. Yes, you’ve read it right. This zipline is 287ft vertical drop! The rush of adrenaline will surge as you go dropped down to the zipline, but the view it offers from the top is spectacular. It might even give you the impression that you are a bird trying to fly at the top of the trees.

Other activities which we tried include visiting the caves and caverns, walking at the suspension bridge, journeying at nature and trails lookout, riding the rocky the train and tractor wagon, visiting the pond and picnic zone, and playing at the children’s adventure playground. Unfortunately, we were not able to take the eco-adventure tours since the kids were a bit tired already.

Scenic Caves Natural Refridger

Visiting the caves and taverns was a self-guided trail which allowed us to go around seventeen geological features. The different characteristics of caves as we go around made the adventure more fascinating and thrilling. If you were to visit the place, I suggest that you wear your best running or hiking shoes since these will be particularly helpful in this activity.

The nature trails and lookouts, on the other hand, allowed us to explore the beauty of nature by following marked trails. As we walked, we’ve seen different plants and trees, all contributing to the overall spectacular beauty of the place. Good thing that my kids do not anymore have the stroller, or else, they will not be allowed to use it in this area.

Tractor Wagon Rides

Rocky the Train is an electric train which gives a back in time vibe because of the bells and whistles. The tour that you are about to experience is both fascinating and exciting. Let yourselves be lost in the middle of the beautiful forestry. On the other hand, the Tractor Wagon Rides will take you to the Flora and Fauna part of the forest. Also, if you would like to head to the Suspension Bridge, riding this cool ride is suggested.

Scenic Caves Suspension Bridge

Finally, the Suspension Bridge! It is considered as the longest footbridge in the entire Ontario. It is 420-feet long, long enough to bring our all the adrenaline, the fears, and the excitement! As you walk or ride the tractor here, imagine that you will be 82-feet from the ground. Isn’t that scary and at the same time thrilling? If you are worried about safety, there is no need for you to be concerned, since it is supported with two steel towers and is attached with numerous anchors. So, all you have to worry is how you will conquer your fear as you crossing the Suspension Bridge.

Scenic Caves

All in all, getting to experience the Scenic Caves Nature Adventure has to offer was a one of a kind experience for the entire family. As we head back home, we brought with us precious memories, sincere laughter, and a ton of learning experiences. I know that this will not be the last time that we are going to visit the place. If you happen to plan your next vacation, don’t forget to consider the Scenic Caves Nature Adventure as one of your possible itineraries. Have fun!
