DK Books, Take Me Away!

If you are anything like I am, you probably love books! I enjoy reading books that are informative and that capture the interest of the reader in little more than a glance. DK Books has come out with Where To Go When..The World’s Best Destinations, an Eyewitness Travel book that beautifully outlines travel destinations all over the world, complete with brilliant color photography. The book focuses on six travel themes sure to entice anyone even considering planning a trip. The six themes include Unforgettable Journeys, Luxury and Romance, Family Vacations, Activity Breaks, Festivals and Culture, and Natural World. Themes that, I would say, cover just about any type of vacation there is, along with the desire of every heart!

Where To Go When..The World’s Best Destinations uses a month by month format, with suggestions about the best time of year to visit the different vacation spots. Events like the Galway Oyster Festival are brought to life by stunning pictures that almost make you feel like you’re there.  The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is colorfully brought to life, and, unless you’re standing right at the foot of the Canadian Rockies, they have never looked as breathtaking as they do within the pages of this wonderful book. This is the type of publication that is a perfect “getaway” all on its own. Spend time leafing through its pages and you’ll come away feeling as though you just came back from the most beautiful sightseeing tour you’ve ever experienced!

DK puts out a very diversified collection of reading. Their cookbooks are not only filled with wonderful, delicious, and healthy recipes; they are also chock full of pertinent information and informative reading. The Deliciously Keto Cookbook is filled from front to back with 150 recipes geared toward the intake of moderate protein, high fat, and low carbs. Keto is a Ketogenic diet which was created originally for patients who had epileptic seizures. It nutritionally helped with reducing how often seizures were experienced by patients. However, people other than epileptic patients began to realize that this diet also provided additional health benefits and began preparing these recipes for a wide variety of nutritional gain.

For the mom and dad on the go (which, I suspect includes all of us!), DK’s Cook Healthy and Quick Cookbook is filled with recipes that only take 30 minutes or less from the book to the plate. You will find that there is something for everyone as you peruse through this book that covers all the bases. There are gluten free recipes, salads, snacks, dinner ideas, and much more. Another benefit that accompanies the great recipes in The Cook Healthy and Quick Cookbook is that whatever ingredients the recipes call for can be found in any supermarket. What could be easier? Finding everything you need all in one place and having it ready to eat in 30 minutes or less!

For the Pilates enthusiast, there is DK’s Pilates: Body in Motion. Mat-based Pilates is the focus here, and with each exercise outlined in the book are specific instructions, easy to follow pictures, and lists of what to do and what not to do. Alycea Ungaro, author of this outstanding instructional exercise book, explains Pilates in four sections. She starts with beginners, then moves on to intermediate, and finally to advanced. Readers follow her lead through the 50 exercises outlined in her book, learning Pilates step by step, and learning how to exercise safely.

All in all, DK Books has again succeeded in offering reading to its public that draws and inspires. These are publications that will again and again provide information, instruction, and advice that covers a multitude of needs and questions. If you decide to become the proud owner of these DK Books, be sure to keep them handy and within easy reach. You will find that you will be drawn to them often, putting to good use everything they have to offer.
